A2S launches a new range of products
Developed jointly by A2S and Fonteck, this family of products* is intended for applications in explosive atmospheres (oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical installations, refineries, etc.) and more specifically for zones 1 and 2 and gas groups IIB and IIC. These products, associated with engines, compressors, lighting and signaling, for example of a heliport on an offshore platform or even air treatment, constitute crucial elements within the systems intended to ensure the safety of people and industrial installations.
All of these new products, made of stainless steel, have received ATEX/IECEX certifications and offer a very high level of protection. A2S has therefore ruled out aluminium, a material that is certainly light but too sensitive to corrosion, and has developed its own models with innovative closing and sealing systems.
Beyond the intrinsic quality of its equipment, A2S aims to offer complete explosion-proof solutions while adapting to the specific demands of customers. "A2S's approach is based on the interaction processes between the different elements of a system. Compressors, heaters, etc. are always connected to a control unit, but the operating environment can vary enormously. This is why we offer custom-made control boxes, whether in terms of size, control unit or observation window. This is where our added value lies," explains Nicolas Sevestre, manager of A2S.
The company can, for example, provide viewing windows for instruments such as pressure indicators, temperatures, etc. in the size of these indicators and in a square, round or rectangular shape depending on the material used by the customer.
These customizable boxes cover three complementary functions: control (visualization), command (actuators, switches, emergency stop buttons, etc.), signaling (indicator lights).
In addition, A2S has chosen to manufacture “large-size” control boxes (900×600 mm), which optimizes costs (fewer boxes to buy) and facilitates connections (more capacity per box). “We have obtained the ATEX/IECEX certifications required for this type of box, which we can therefore produce in various sizes, from the smallest to the largest,” explains Nicolas Sevestre. Marketing of these new products has already started and provides a concrete response to market needs, particularly in terms of custom configurations.
