A2S, now listed by Total, has just won a first instrumentation preparation contract in Angola for the oil group's "Girassol" offshore platform. In addition to the quality of its products and its commercial responsiveness, the latter particularly appreciated A2S's desire to develop a local presence. This desire is taking shape in two ways. On the one hand, for the maintenance of its electrical safety equipment, A2S is now working with a Luandan installer, the company ISEG. This company notably manages an annual "fire detection" maintenance contract for the TOTAL towers in Luanda. On the other hand, A2S now has a local representative in Luanda, namely the company INDUSCOM, an Angolan importer and distributor that is strongly developing its activity in the mining and petrochemical sectors. INDUSCOM will be supported by an A2S sales manager dedicated to the Angolan market in the coming months.
Angola, the second largest oil producer on the African continent, whose growth has reached 10% on average over the last decade, has very large oil deposits, mainly offshore. In addition, since 2013, this country has started exporting liquefied natural gas. If oil remains the economic lung of Angola, the government now wants to invest in infrastructure of all kinds where the needs are enormous. So many development opportunities that A2S intends to seize, hence the need for a significant and sustainable local presence.
In this context, A2S was present at the international trade fair FILDA – Feira Internacional de Luanda – which was held last July in Luanda, the capital of Angola. Many visitors showed interest in A2S products and services. In addition to those from the oil and gas sector, professionals from the agri-food sector also showed great interest. In fact, several factory construction projects are under consideration. This could lead to new opportunities for A2S, particularly for the supply of ATEX products.
